Blind Hope

There once was a girl who could not see. When she was younger a darkness over took the land and made everyone go blind. For many years after the girl was mute. Many asked, “Why do you not sing as you once did? Why let the darkness take your sight and voice?” But she muttered not a word for if she could not see there was no hope and no will to speak.

One night when the sky was dark and the gray clouds covered the moon’s light the girls stood by her bedroom’s open window. She breathed in the fresh air and felt the crisp wind on her face.

For hours she stood there, rooted in place. Praying that one day the sun in the sky would return. When suddenly she saw a luminous ball of fire the color of red dancing in space. As it fell is radiated flames the colors of purple, orange, and blue.

With a stunning white flash light began to seep into her eyes and through her pores, engulfing her and the rest of the world. For the first time in a long time the girls saw the most beautiful thing she could ever imagine. She saw hope.
